This talk is intended to discuss the basics of Spousal Sponsorship, aimed at the lawyer taking on one of these files perhaps for the first time. Hopefully, there will also be some useful information to consider for lawyers who already have a few applications under their belt already.
Tatiana’s first spousal sponsorship was before she started formally practicing immigration law: for her own husband. Going through this personally was a great way to become aware of the significance of the process, the confusion that can come from IRCC instructions, and the stress that often accompanies it all.
Now, Tatiana has been practicing for the past few years with Legally Canadian, a firm specializing in Immigration and Refugee Law. (You may have heard this firm name before from a past JRILN talk done by Jenny or Leo). During these years, Tatiana has had the opportunity to help clients with their own sponsorship applications, and has learned a lot more when taking these applications on now from the counsel perspective.
